The DRK School and Therapy Center Raisdorf ("SuTz") is a facility of the DRK -Landesverband Schleswig-Holstein e. V., which has existed since 1973.

The facility serves the integration of children, adolescents and young adults with severe physical disabilities . Educational , nursing , psychological and therapeutic measures should enable them to lead a self-determined life. The principles of the Red Cross , the school law and the curriculum of the state of Schleswig-Holstein are the basis and framework of the work.

In "Sutz" work occupational therapists , physical therapists , speech therapists , psychologists , social and remedial teachers , educators , doctors , support workers , health and nursing , health care and nursing assistants and nursing assistants, technical staff, chefs , dieticians and kitchen gadgets, utility personnel and young women and Men in the Voluntary Social Year .

Boarding school

The boarding school is an essential part of the SuTz and enables school attendance in the state support center for physical and motor development Schwentinental . In two residential and care areas, they live in groups with up to nine other students outside of class times.

Therapy area

With regard to the full-day service provision and participation in the diagnosis and counseling weeks, the individual support plans and counseling for parents, the therapy area is closely interlinked with all other service areas. The Physiotherapy based on neurophysiological treatment concepts: Basic Stimulation , Lilli Nielsen , Bobath , Castillo Morales , Félicie Affolter , Sensory Integration , Feldenkrais , psychomotor , cranio-sacral therapy , hippotherapy , respiratory therapy and therapeutic swimming. Social service

The social service helps schoolchildren, their relatives, their own employees, self-help groups and associations for the disabled. Medical care

The neuropaediatrist comes regularly to rounds ; If necessary, doctors from other specialties from the area also help. Ventilated pupils and residents are looked after by an internist / emergency doctor . Since the founding of the SuTz, a specialist from the Orthopedic University Clinic in Kiel has prescribed and supervised all necessary aids and remedies (Martin Mann, Peter Hippe, Axel Falliner).

The SuTz works closely with the North German Epilepsy Center for Children and Adolescents , the Kiel University Hospital and the Hamburg Accident Hospital .

State development center for physical and motor development Schwentinental

Commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the State of Schleswig-Holstein , the supraregional State Support Center Schwentinental accepts school-age children and young people who cannot be supported or insufficiently supported at other schools due to their physical disabilities. The state development center is divided into various courses of education: primary school , secondary school , secondary school , special focus on learning (special school) and special focus on intellectual development (school for the mentally handicapped). The canon of subjects and all educational qualifications acquired here correspond to those of mainstream schools .

Secondary school students who are aiming for the Abitur can live in the boarding school and attend the surrounding high schools . Driving service and nursing support are set up.

Christof Husen House

Christof Husen († 1979), the senior boss of Hugo Hamann GmbH & Co. KG , bequeathed his fortune to the foundation named after him. In 1996 it enabled the Schleswig-Holstein DRK regional association to build the Christof Husen House in Raisdorf. 18 young adults with severe physical disabilities (§ 53 ff. SGB ​​XII ) receive disability-friendly living space, individual care, care and therapy.

For the residents, Horizonte Ostholstein gGmbH maintains the Schwentinental workshop in the house with individually furnished workplaces. As a service provider for layout and digital printing , the workshop provides printed matter and websites for regional companies.

North German epilepsy center for children and adolescents

For 40 years, the North German Epilepsy Center (NEZ) has been treating, advising and caring for children and adolescents (mostly from northern Germany) up to the age of 18 who suffer from epilepsy that is difficult to control . The holistic treatment is based on the specific diagnosis and the neuropsychological assessment (Gisela von Ondarza). Therapy and progress are recorded and documented in the clinic and at home with the Epivista electronic treatment calendar . Are treated u. a. the epilepsy with myoclonic astatic seizures ( Doose syndrome ), epilepsy with myklonischen absences (EMA, Tassinari), the pseudo-Lennox syndrome ( Doose ) and Dravet syndrome .

The NEZ is under the care of Kiel Neuropediatrics and is managed by Ulrich Stephani and Sarah von Spiczak. A close cooperation with neuroradiology (O. Jansen) and human genetics (R. Siebert) is contractually agreed.

The NEZ received an award from the Medical Management Association in September 2014 for presenting the Epivista .
