The Daan Viljoen Game Park ( English Daan Viljoen Game Park ) is a 39.53 square kilometer nature reserve in Namibia on the main road C28 about 24 kilometers west of Windhoek . In it is the Augeigas Dam with a reservoir.
The Daan Viljoen Wildlife Park has existed since 1962 and is part of the Khomashochland with numerous steep mountains, valleys, highland savannas and thorn bushes. The park is known for the many species of birds that can be found here. There are several hiking trails and two circular routes for vehicles, of which from many animal species, including greater kudu , oryx , wildebeest and mountain zebra can be observed.
Accommodations
From August 1, 2008 to March 2012, the accommodations were closed due to renovation and privatization. Since reopening, privately operated ( Sun Karros ) bungalows and campsites as well as a restaurant have been available.
