The Von Bach Recreation Area ( English Von Bach Recreation Resort ) is a recreational area in central Namibia .

The recreation area is located in the northern foothills of the Erosberg Mountains , around 5 km southeast of Okahandja . The center of the recreation area is the Von Bach Dam , one of the largest freshwater reservoirs in the city of Windhoek . There is a wildlife park around the reservoir, but it is difficult to access it from the only road in the area.

The reservoir, on the other hand, offers good opportunities for water sports , such as water skiing , canoeing , fishing or swimming. There is also a camping site , and there are simple overnight accommodations within the recreation area.

Day visitors are only allowed to stay there between sunrise and sunset . No dogs or motorcycles are allowed; a fishing license is available at the entrance gate.
