The Mudumu National Park ( English Mudumu National Park ) is a 1,009.59 square kilometers large national park in the region Zambezi in northeastern Namibia .
The starting point for Mudumu is Kongola, northwest of the park . The park is to the west of the river Kwando limited, the Northeast of the park is a dry of Mopane prevailed -Trees bush savannah and in the southwest of the park is the Linyantisümpfe coined a very unusual for Namibia Landscape: Reetinseln , rivers and marshes characterize this area. The Linyanti to the south of these swamps forms the southern border of the park and also the state border between Namibia and Botswana .
The Mudumu National Park is very rich in game and is home to lions and elephants as well as rare antelopes , zebras , hippos , crocodiles and over 430 species of birds.
The park is only accessible by very poor unpaved roads, which can only be visited by 4x4 or boat. Due to its remote location and the malaria risk typical of tropical climates , the park is rarely visited by tourists; there are a number of private lodge accommodation options on the edge of the park.
