Damian Kapica (born July 18, 1992 in Nowy Targ ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with KS Cracovia in the Ekstraliga since 2015 .

Career

Club

Damian Kapica began his career in the youth department of Podhale Nowy Targ , for whose second team he played in the second-class I league as a 14-year-old . In the 2009/10 season he moved to the first team of the Polish record champions and was able to win his first championship title with them in the same season . In 2011 he moved to HC Oceláři Třinec for a year , where he was used in the Czech U20 league. After two years at the Upper Silesian JKH GKS Jastrzębie , with whom he won the Polish Cup in 2013 , he returned to Nowy Targ in his hometown of Malopolskie for a year and became the top scorer in the Ekstraliga in 2015 . He has been playing at KS Cracovia since 2015 . With the club from the traditional university town, he won the Polish championship in 2016 and 2017 and the cup competition in 2016.

International

For Poland, Kapica took part in Division I of the U18 World Championships in 2008 , 2009 , when he was the best preparer of the tournament and also had the best plus / minus balance, and in 2010 , when he was voted the best player on his team, in the junior division . as well as the U20 World Championships in 2010 and 2012 , when the top scorer and top scorer - he scored all of his six goals in the 9-1 victory over the Croatian youngsters - and had the best plus / minus balance.

He made his debut in the men's national team at the Division I games of the 2012 World Cup . In the following years he was repeatedly used in the Polish national team, but his second World Cup participation was only in 2017 in Division I, in which he also played in 2018 .
