Marcin Kolusz (born January 18, 1985 in Limanowa ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Podhale Nowy Targ in the Ekstraliga since 2017 .
Career
Marcin Kolusz began his career as a hockey player with Podhale Nowy Targ , for which he was active in the Ekstraliga from 2000 to 2003 . He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2003 in the fifth round as a total of 157 players by the Minnesota Wild , for which he however never played. Instead, the center spent the 2003/04 season with the Vancouver Giants from the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League . The Giants had drawn him in the first round as the 33rd player in the CHL Import Draft . After returning from North America, he signed again with Podhale Nowy Targ, with whom he won the Polish Cup competition in the 2004/05 season . The left-handed shooter then received a contract offer from HC Oceláři Třinec from the Czech Extra League . There he could not prevail at first, so that he collected match practice in the second-class first division at HC Havířov and HK Jestřábi Prostějov . In the following two seasons he was a regular player in the extra league team Třinecs with 50 and 49 appearances.
For the 2008/09 season Kolusz moved to HK Aquacity ŠKP Poprad from the Slovak Extra League . He then returned one more time to his ex-club from Nowy Targ , with which he was Polish champion for the first time in the 2009/10 season . From 2011 to 2013 he played for his league rival KH Sanok in the Ekstraliga. With this he won the championship and cup double in 2012. In the summer of 2013 he switched to the Ekstraliga promoted KTH Krynica , which he left in December of the same year to join GKS Tychy , with whom he was then Polish runner-up. In 2015 he won the championship and cup double with the Silesians and another cup win in 2017. He then joined Podhale Nowy Targ for the fourth time. He has completed over 500 games in the Ekstraliga so far.
International
For Poland , Kolusz took part in the junior division at the U18 World Cup in Division II in 2001 and the U18 World Cup in Division I in 2003 , when he was the top goalscorer and most successful scorer of the tournament, and the U20 World Cup in Division II in 2004 , when he was also the scored most goals and scorer points, and participated in the U20 World Cup Division I in 2005 .
In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , when he was the best preparer and scorer both for the best striker of the tournament and for the All-Star Team was voted best player on his team in 2013 , 2014 when he was named best player on his team, 2015 when he was not only voted best player on his team again but also on the tournament's all-star team in 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . He will be the captain of the Polish selection from 2012 to 2017.
He also played for Poland in the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , 2014 in Sochi and 2018 in Pyeongchang .
