House of the Forgotten (Original title: The People Under the Stairs ) is an American horror comedy from 1991. Directed by Wes Craven .
action
The poor, black boy Poindexter Williams (nickname " Fool ") is in financial difficulties, which his sister's criminal pimp exploits for himself. To raise money for his sick mother, Williams participates in a break-in into the creepy-looking house of the strange couple of Robesons, who also land most of the houses in the ghetto, where Fool and his family also live. Having penetrated the house, the foray turns into a real nightmare.
The homeowners, "Mommy" and "Daddy", are obviously murderous psychopaths, and even cannibalism seems to be the order of the day. The couple, who later turned out to be a brother-sister team, have converted their house into a true fortress from which there is apparently no escape. In the basement of the house, the crazy couple keeps children and young people growing up, completely isolated from the outside world, who over the years have developed into light-shy cannibals. Fool meets little Alice in the house, who is locked up there by the couple as their alleged daughter. With the help of Roach, who lives between the walls of the house, Fool manages to escape from the horror house. Roach is one of the offspring of the horror couple and his mother removed his tongue after he cursed. Alice stays behind, however. With the entire neighborhood behind him, little Fool returns and saves Alice and the other children.
