The case next door is an early evening series of the ARD , which was broadcast for the first time in the regional program of the North German Radio . There were three seasons with a total of 53 episodes, with the first two seasons each comprising 13 episodes, the third season 27 episodes. It was a production by Studio Hamburg on behalf of North German advertising television.
content
The series describes the work of the social worker Hanna Seidler and her colleague Brettschneider from the Hamburg welfare organization. As is their job, they try to alleviate the plight of those around them and to help them solve their problems.

Each episode began with the following words spoken off-screen: Old houses. New houses. Invitingly friendly or unfriendly and dismissive. Facades behind which people live, people with worries and needs. Fates that are often hidden out of fear of the neighbors, out of shame, out of desperation. "The case next door" reports from the work of welfare .
The scripts were written by various authors, and several directors were involved in the creation of the series, including the lead actor Gerd Baltus. The broadcast day was always Wednesday, the broadcast took place at weekly intervals.
