Didier Havet

Didier Havet (born March 9, 1964 in Lille ) is a French jazz musician ( tuba , bass trombone , composition ).

Havet was trained in a local harmony orchestra; at the age of eight he first had drum lessons and then learned the saxhorn and the tuba at the age of 13. He studied at the Conservatory in Lille, where he finished with a first place. After his military service, he started working as a professional musician in 1986. Between 1986 and 2002 he was invited to the Orchester National de Jazz several times by François Jeanneau , Antoine Hervé , Denis Badault and Paolo Damiani . With his Dixi-Project he interpreted the music of Frank Zappa , Louis Sclavis , François Jeanneau and Jon Hendricks .

He also belonged to Marc Steckar's tuba pack , to the Martial Solal Dodecaband , (on European tours between 1994 and 1996) to the Mingus Big Band , to the Zoomtop Orchestra of Bertrand Renaudin , to the Fanfare Y'en a qui manquête pas d'air by Catherine Delaunay and to the Orchester de la Lune . He also worked with Claude Barthélémy , Ivan Jullien , Laurent Cugny , Gil Evans , Archie Shepp , Lester Bowie , Michel Legrand , Vladimir Cosma , Diana Krall , Hugh Coltman and Manu Dibango . As a studio musician he has worked for Georges Moustaki , Bénabar , Gianmaria Testa , Jun Miyake , Julien Clerc , Véronique Sanson , Toufic Farroukh and Calogero . He can be heard on albums by Jean-Marc Padovani / Enzo Cormann, Jean-Charles Capon , Eddy Louiss , Georges Rabol , Alex Grillo, the Paris Jazz Big Band , Ping Machine and Sixun .
