The Professor - Tatort Ölfeld (working title: Tatort Staatsarchiv ) is an Austrian television film from 2018 by Peter Payer with Christiane Hörbiger and Mavie Hörbiger in the leading roles. The first broadcast on ORF took place on December 28, 2018.

Adelgunde Kramer is a professor emeritus for contemporary history at the University of Vienna who lives entirely for her job. She wants to found an institute for European social history. The Russian historian Yekaterina comes to Vienna to do research on reparations in the Soviet zone for her dissertation . Adelgunde should look after them.

However, Jekatarina also has a private reason to contact Adelgunde. Because Franz Kramer, Adelgunde's father, worked in occupied post-war Austria during the Russian occupation on the oil fields in Lower Austria after World War II . After allegations of sabotage he was deported to Siberia . The von Adelgunde family, including her mother Irmgard and her younger sister Heidrun Winkler, née Kramer, did not find out about his death until a few years later. Ekaterina claims to be the granddaughter of Adelgunde's father. He is said to have started a new family in the camp.

Adelgunde and Jekaterina begin investigating. After this also took place in the environment of the former Bauernbund chairman Reiter senior and his past, his son cabinet boss Reiter junior obtained that Adelgunde should not get her institute after all. A DNA test shows that Adelgunde is actually Jekaterina's aunt, but Heidrun is her half-sister - Heidrun and Adelgunde do not have the same father. Their mother, Irmgard, confesses to them that Karl Reiter Senior is Heidrun's father, Heidrun Winkler and cabinet boss Reiter junior are therefore half-siblings.

In 1953 a fire broke out after a fight in the oil field. At that time Reiter senior had confirmed the false sobatage allegations against Franz Kramer to the Russians, Kramer was sent to the camp because of Karl Reiter. After confronting Reiter senior and junior with the denunciation by Reiter senior at the time , Jekaterina suspects that Adelgunde will get her institute after all.

The shooting took place from November 3rd to December 2nd, 2016, and the shooting took place in Vienna and Lower Austria . The location was among other things the cemetery in Vösendorf .

The film was produced by Mona Film, with Austrian broadcasting involved . Bertram Reiter was responsible for the production design, Caterina Czepek for the costume design , Heinz K. Ebner for the sound and Martin Geisler and Aurora Hummer for the make-up.

For this film, Christiane Hörbiger stood in front of the camera for the first time with her niece Mavie. Cornelius Obonya and Manuel Witting from the Hörbiger family of actors were also involved.
