Fuchs is a food inspector who really enjoys his job. No restaurant is safe from its exams. His greatest wish is his promotion from the provincial Dithmarschen to the city of Hamburg . In order to achieve this, one day Fuchs takes in the stranded brother of the head of the Hamburg food control department, Tilmann. Tilmann is a cynical, selfish and inconsiderate person who seeks his own advantage without consideration. When Tilmann insists on accompanying Fuchs on his last round of inspections in the region, the situation becomes increasingly out of control, especially because Tilmann is putting the fines he has imposed in his own pocket.

The film was produced by Elke Peters (Neue Mira Filmproduktion GmbH (Bremen)) in co-production with Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) under the production management of Eckart Lippens. The shooting took place from January 2008 to February 17, 2008 in Dithmarschen and Hamburg . The world premiere took place on September 28, 2008 as part of the Hamburg Film Festival .
