Production notes
According to the Hamburger Abendblatt , ZDF editor Claus Legal was made aware of Bunke's death by the death notice from Tamara Bunke's family on October 30, 1967 in New Germany and encouraged the film project.
The film title refers to the three activities that Bunke allegedly carried out: as a “good-looking man trap” in the GDR, as a KGB agent in Havana and as a “combative guerrilla force” in Bolivia. The production was shot in Spain . During the filming, the leading actress Jonasson suffered an accident when the demolition master detonated an explosive charge too early at the “river crossing”, which was supposed to simulate blood from the gunshot wounds (The death of Tamara Bunke). As a result, Jonasson suffered severe burns on his left arm.
It is unclear on what basis the script was created. However, in 1970 Marta Rojas published the Bunke biography Tania, la guerrillera inolvidable ( Tania, the unforgettable guerrillera ) in Havana , which was published in New York in 1971 in English ( Tania, the unforgettable guerrillera ). The German translation Tania, la guerrillera appeared in 1973 in the GDR military publishing house , translated by Nadja Bunke, Tamara Bunke's mother.
As far as is known, the film was never shown again on German television. A DVD edition is not available to date (2017).
criticism
The main reason why the play was more captivating and less stereotypical than Andics' usual documentary was that the events of the time were still so topical.
