The Divine Missionary Sisters belong to the religious family of around ten thousand Divine Divine Missionaries , Missionary Sisters and Adoration Sisters in many countries around the world.

history

The first matron Helena Stollenwerk founded the Order of Missionary Sisters with Sister Hendrina Stenmanns and Father Arnold Janssen in 1889. The mother house province is in Steyl , the Netherlands .

Today the order has branches in 47 countries, u. a. in America and Latin America , Africa , Asia , Europe and Eastern Europe and Australia / Oceania . The sisters from a wide variety of professions and areas are involved in nursing, AIDS prevention, educational activities in schools and kindergartens, pastoral care in church parishes and health facilities, work with marginalized groups, spiritual support, retreat work and media work on an international level. There is the possibility of working as a "temporary missionary".

The Steyler Missionaries,  whose official name is Servants of the Holy Spirit (SSpS), are the first congregation of sisters that Arnold Janssen brought into being in 1889 after the Steyler Missionaries were founded. Because of the color of their habit, the Steyler Mission Sisters are also called Blue Sisters .

The Divine Adoration Sisters , the official names of the Servants of the Holy Spirit of Eternal Adoration (SSpSAP), are the second congregation of sisters that Arnold Janssen founded after the Divine Word Missionaries were founded in 1896. The contemplative missionary community is also called the Pink Sisters because of the color of their religious habit .
