Dirk Böcker (born January 17, 1945 ) is a German lieutenant general a. D. the Air Force . In 2002 he was Commander of the Air Force Command and from 2002 to 2005 Deputy Inspector General of the Federal Armed Forces and Commissioner for Reservist Affairs of the Federal Armed Forces.

biography

Böcker entered the Air Force as an officer candidate in 1965 . First, a training took place in the United States for Starfighter - pilots . In the following years he was first a pilot in the Jagdbombergeschwader 36 (JaboG) " Westphalia " in Rheine and then a squadron captain of the Jagdbombergeschwader 35 in horse field . Subsequently, he was appointed commanding general of the Air Force Command South. After serving as Commander of Combined Air Operations Center 4 (CAOC 4), he finally became Commander of the Air Force Command Command (LwFüKdo) in Cologne-Wahn.

Most recently he was in the rank of Lieutenant General from October 1, 2002 until his retirement on March 31, 2005 as the successor to Vice Admiral Rainer Feist, Deputy Inspector General of the Bundeswehr and Commissioner for Reservist Affairs of the Bundeswehr. On March 23, 2005, Federal Defense Minister Peter Struck adopted him into retirement with a big tattoo . Successor in this office was Lieutenant General Johann-Georg Dora .

After his retirement he became first chairman of the association for the development of the Air Force Museum of the Bundeswehr eV and chairman of the traditional community of JG 71 "Richthofen".

Today Böcker lives in Wittmund .
