The Olleros district is located in the Huaraz province in the Ancash region in western Peru . The district was established on October 16, 1933. It has an area of ​​231 km². The 2017 census counted 2,496 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 3432, in 2007 it was 2581. The district administration is located in the 3336  m high village of Olleros with 228 inhabitants (as of 2017). Olleros is 16 km south-southeast of the provincial capital Huaraz .

Geographical location

The Olleros District is located in the extreme southeast of the Huaraz Province. The district extends from the Río Santa in the west to the main ridge of the Cordillera Blanca in the east.

The Olleros district is bordered to the west and the north by the district Huaraz , the east by the district Chavin de Huantar ( province Huari ) and on the south by the districts Ticapampa and Recuay (both in the province of Recuay ).
