The Ranracancha district is located in the Chincheros Province in the Apurímac region in central Peru . The district was established on October 29, 1993. It has an area of 100 km². At the 2017 census, there were 4,256 inhabitants in the district. In 2007 the population was 4256. The district administration is located in the village of Ranracancha at an altitude of about 3400 m with 1012 inhabitants (as of 2017). Ranracancha is about 13 km east of the provincial capital Chincheros .
Geographical location
The Ranracancha district is located in the Andean highlands in the central southeast of the Chincheros province.
The Ranracancha district is bordered on the southwest by the district uranium Marca , the west by the district Anco Huallo , on the north by the district Rocchacc , the northeast and the east by the district Ocobamba and on the southeast by the district of Santa María de Chicmo ( province of Andahuaylas ).
