The Secclla district is located in the Angaraes province in the Huancavelica region in south-western central Peru . The district was established on April 15, 1955. It has an area of ​​163 km². The 2017 census counted 3,203 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 2326, in 2007 it was 3377. The seat of the district administration is the 3340  m high village of Secclla with 575 inhabitants (as of 2017). Secclla is located 26 km east-southeast of the provincial capital Lircay .

Geographical location

The Secclla district is located in the arid Andean highlands in the central east of the Angaraes province. The Río Huarancayoc, right tributary of the Río Urubamba , drains the area to the northeast.

The Secclla district is bordered on the southwest by the district Lircay , on the north by the district Congalla , in the northeast on the district Julcamarca , on the east by the district of San Antonio de Antaparco and on the southeast by the district Santo Tomas de Pata ..
