Dmytro Leonidowytsch Nimenko ( Ukrainian Дмитро Леонідович Німенко ; born May 1, 1988 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian ice hockey player who has been under contract with CS Progym Gheorgheni in the Romanian ice hockey league since 2017 .
Career
Club
Dmytro Nimenko began his career as a hockey player in the Vysschaja Liga , the second highest Belarusian league, with HK Homel in its second team. In the 2007/08 season he was also used once in the club's first team in the Extraliga . In 2008 he moved to his native Kiev for HK Sokil , for whom he first played in the second Russian league and again in Belarus in 2009/10, in the extra league. After two years at home, he moved to Kazakhstan, where he spent a year on the ice for HK Kasachmys Satpajew . He then returned to Ukraine and has been active in the professional hockey league ever since . After two years at HK Donbass Donetsk , with whose second team he was each Ukrainian national champion, he switched to league rivals HK Kompanjon-Naftohas Kiev in 2013 , with whom he was able to win the Ukrainian title again in 2014. He then went to Berkut Karaganda , but left the Kazakhs after five missions and joined the CSM Dunărea Galați , with which he became Romanian champion in 2015 and 2016 . In 2016 he returned to Ukraine and initially joined HK Krywbass before returning to HK Donbass in 2016, with which he became Ukrainian champion for the third time in 2017. Since 2017 he has been playing with the CS Progym Gheorgheni in the Romanian ice hockey league .
International
For Ukraine , Nimenko took part in the 2006 U18 World Cup and the 2006 , 2007 and 2008 U20 World Cup . He also represented his colors at the 2013 Winter Universiade in Trentino, Italy .
For the men's national team , Nimenko played at the World Championships of Division I in 2010 , 2011 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2017 and 2018 . He was also on the ice for the Ukrainian team at the qualifying tournament for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , where the Ukrainians failed in the second qualifying round.
