Dois Riachos , officially Município de Dois Riachos , is a small town in the Brazilian state of Alagoas . It is located in the northwest of the state and approx. 245 km east of the capital Maceió . In the north it borders on the state of Pernambuco .
According to the 2010 census, the community has 10,880 inhabitants, who are called Riachenser. It is 66th in Alagoas in terms of population and is nicknamed "Cidade do Gado", "Terra da jogadora Marta", "Princesa das vaquejadas" (the little princess of cattle driving ). According to the IBGE's estimate of July 1, 2019, the number of inhabitants was calculated to increase slowly to 11,075. The area of the municipality is around 140 km²; the population density is 77.8 people per km².
City administration
After the local elections in 2016, Ramon Camilo Silva of the Partido Republicano Progressista (PRP ) is the city prefect (executive) for the term 2017 to 2020 , the legislature lies with the Câmara Municipal, the municipal chamber (city council).
The city is divided into seven bairros : Alto do Cruzeiro, Alto da Fé 1, Alto da Fé 2, Alto da Conceição, Centro, Nova Brasília and Pastor Ozório Brás.
Together with nine other municipalities it forms the Santana do Ipanema microregion , which in turn forms the Sertão Alagoano mesoregion with three microregions , one of the three statistical-geographical mesoregions in Alagoas.

The town is connected to the BR-316 federal road, which runs diagonally from Maceió to Belem in the state of Pará .
