Dominic Volkmer (born April 27, 1996 in Bremen ) is a German soccer player who is under contract with MSV Duisburg .
Career
From the C-youth, Volkmer played at SC Weyhe , from where he moved to JFV Nordwest in 2015, the youth department of the Oldenburg clubs VfB and VfL. In the 2015/16 season he was a regular player in the Regionalliga Nord at VfB Oldenburg , played 31 games and finished second with the team. For the 2016/17 season he got a three-year contract with Werder Bremen, where he had already played in his youth. He played his first game for the U23 team in the 3rd division on August 5, 2016 at Fortuna Cologne . In total, he was used in 28 games in the 2016/17 season . On the final day of the match, he scored his first goal for a 1-0 win against VfR Aalen in the 85th minute, shortly after being substituted on, which secured Werder Bremen II relegation. In the 2017/18 season he played 34 games for Bremen, then moved to second division SSV Jahn Regensburg .
This gave him after only one brief appearance as well as two games in the Bavarian League team for the second half of the third league season 2018/19 at FC Carl Zeiss Jena .
After just one second division game for Jahn , Volkmer returned to Jena before the 6th match day of the third division 2019/20 season and signed a contract that was valid until June 2021. On the 8th match day, the defender of head coach Lukas Kwasniok , who claims to have waived part of his own salary in favor of Volkmer's commitment, was appointed the new team captain. He succeeded his teammate René Eckardt in office . Volkmer played 19 league games as a regular in central defense, but then dropped out due to a muscle injury and was also suspended from play and training after the 30th matchday at the beginning of June 2020 together with four other professionals . For the 2020/21 season, Volkmer was signed by MSV Duisburg .

In May 2015 Volkmer successfully passed his Abitur examination.
