Ahmet Engin (born August 9, 1996 in Moers ) is a German soccer player who is currently under contract with MSV Duisburg .
Career
Engin began playing football at an early age at SV Neukirchen . He stayed loyal to this for many years until he moved to the youth department of the former Bundesliga club KFC Uerdingen as a C-youth . The KFC remained for him, however, only a stopover, as he was accepted into the youth of the second division MSV Duisburg in 2011 . In this, the versatile player in the attacking midfield and in the storm went through the remaining age groups. In the B and then in the A youth he competed in the Bundesliga of the respective age group. During the 2014/15 season , the then 18-year-old was twice in the third division squad due to good performances, but was ultimately not called up. So he was not directly involved in the fact that the first team made it back to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2015 .
Like his teammate Dominik Behr, Engin signed a professional contract with the first team of MSV Duisburg for the 2015/16 season . On August 22, 2015, he was brought into play in a 2-0 away defeat against Karlsruher SC in the 63rd minute, making his second division debut . In the rest of the season he ran in friendlies again for the professionals and was otherwise in the second team match practice in the league . After the relegation of the first team in 2016, Engin was part of the third division squad of MSV, for which he scored his first professional goal on matchday 20 of the 2016/17 season . It was the 1-0 winner at SC Paderborn 07 . In the further course of the season he was used regularly and managed to get promoted back to the 2nd Bundesliga with the team in 2017. After two years, he was relegated to the third division again with MSV at the end of the 2018/19 season . In the following season , Engin was often only used as a substitute. After a gross foul on his Magdeburg opponent Dominik Ernst , in which he broke his outer ankle, the winger was suspended for five games after the 27th matchday.
