Dorf-Erbach is a district of Erbach in the Odenwaldkreis in southern Hesse . The hamlet Habermannskreuz belongs to the village .
geography
The federal road 47 , the Nibelungenstrasse, runs on the northeastern edge of the village . The name of the village was given by the Erdbach, which seeps away on karst underground .
history
Ertbach is first mentioned in a document in 1095 in the Lorsch Codex . Since the name Erdbach flows through Dorf-Erbach, but not through the core town of Erbach, but only to a limited extent in the north-east of Erbach, it can be assumed with some justification that the first mention actually refers to Dorf-Erbach. It was only with the later development of the neighboring urban settlement that the attribute village became necessary to distinguish it from it .
Dorf-Erbach was mentioned under the following names in documents that have survived (the year of mention in brackets):
- Ertbac (1113)
- of the village of Erpach (1321)
- Erpach the village (1398–1400)
- dorff Erppach (1420)
- dorff Erpach (1426)
- dorff Erpach (1427)
- dorff Erpach (1443)
- at the village of Erpach (1451)
- zu dorff Erppach (1524)
In the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Dorf-Erbach was incorporated into the district town of Erbach on February 1, 1972.
Culture
The former schoolhouse built in the center of the village in 1880 from sandstone blocks is also a listed building, as is a three-sided courtyard on Dreiseetalstraße of exceptional completeness and next door the only one- house preserved in the area .
