Haisterbach is a district of Erbach in the Odenwaldkreis in southern Hesse .

Geographical location

Haisterbach is located around three kilometers south of the core town of Erbach in the red sandstone area of the Odenwald . Together with Günterfürst , bordering to the north , it was cleared west of the Mümling on a hill 322 meters high . In the local area is the headwaters of a brook that turns east to Mümling, a good kilometer away. The Mümling in the east and the Marbach with the Marbach reservoir in the south form the boundary. The district area is 588 hectares (1961), of which 301 hectares are forested. The hamlet of Marbach belongs to the place .

history

The village was mentioned for the first time in 1353. In 1939 the place had 232 inhabitants and belonged to the district of Erbach.

On December 31, 1971, Haisterbach was incorporated into the district town of Erbach.
