The Dornier Do 10 was a German fighter aircraft from the Dornier-Werke .

history

The aircraft was developed in 1931 on the basis of earlier designs by Claude Dornier . Originally designed as a seaplane, it was later changed to a land plane. The aircraft was first declared as the Dornier C-1, but changed to Do 10 in the course of the uniform designation for aircraft types (between 1930 and 1932).

construction

As a special feature, the Do 10 had a pivoting engine that was supposed to improve climbing ability. However, this was not enough to improve the poor flight performance of the Do 10.

The aircraft existed in four series C-1 to C-4, which differed mainly in the different engines. The Rolls-Royce Kestrel IIIS, BMW VI 7.3 and Hispano-Suiza 12 Xbrc engines were used in the aircraft.

use

Only two prototypes were made.
