The Dornier Do 22 was a military multi-purpose aircraft from the Dornier works .
development
Originally known as the Do C 3, the aircraft was developed from the end of 1932 at the Dornier Manzell plant and the affiliated Swiss plant in Altenrhein; later the name was changed to Do 22. The aircraft was a stripped high-wing aircraft in all-metal construction and fabric covering with a rigid landing gear or optionally a floating gear. A French twelve-cylinder engine from Hispano-Suiza served as the drive . The crew consisted of the pilot, radio operator and the gunner in each open seat. All copies were intended for export, twelve each to Yugoslavia (as Do 22Kj) and Greece (as Do 22Kg) and four as Do 22Kl to Latvia, but their delivery was prevented by the occupation of the country by the Soviet Union and finally by Finland as Thu 22Kf were taken.
