The Dropt ( Occitan Dròt ) is an approx. 132 km long river in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in southwestern France .

The Dropt rises in the municipality of Capdrot , east of Monpazier , generally drains in a westerly direction and flows into the Garonne after 132 km at Caudrot as a right tributary . A breakthrough with a lock already connects the Dropt with the Garonne at Casseuil .
The Dropt drains most of the land mass between the two rivers Dordogne and Garonne . At various points of the Dropt forms the border between the departments Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne and the departments Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne.

Viticulture
The Dropt forms in parts the southern border of the wine-growing region of the Côtes-de-Duras in the north-west of the Agenais .
Attractions
There are numerous watermills on the banks of the Dropt and its tributaries , most of which are listed buildings. The Pont du Bretou at Eymet and the Pont du Dropt at La Sauvetat-du-Dropt are two medieval bridges that are recognized as monuments historiques .
