Monségur is a French commune with 1,584 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the southeast of the department Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine .
geography
Monségur is located in the Guyenne in an area called Entre-deux-Mers ('between two seas'), between the Garonne and the Dordogne , which is so named because the phenomenon of the tidal wave drives waves up the rivers. The municipality is located in the Dropt Valley , a right tributary of the Garonne, 18 kilometers north of Marmande and 57 kilometers southeast of Bordeaux .
The neighboring municipalities are Le Puy in the north and west, Dieulivol in the northeast, Cours-de-Monségur in the east, Saint-Vivien-de-Monségur in the southeast, Sainte-Gemme in the south and Saint-Sulpice-de-Guilleragues in the southwest.

Attractions
- The market hall was built in the 19th century.
- The Gothic church "Notre-Dame" dates from the 13th century and was restored in the 19th century. It was entered in the supplementary list of official historical monuments in 1925 .
- The Tour du Gouverneur ('Tower of the Governor') from the 15th century.
