Omet is a commune with 296 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Aquitaine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Langon and the canton of L'Entre-deux-Mers ( Cadillac until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called omettons .

Omet is located in the southwest of France . North and west of the municipality is Laroque , further north Escoussans , northeast Porte-de-Benauge , east Donzac , south Loupiac and south and southwest Cadillac .
