Auros is a French commune with 1,020 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the canton of Le Réolais et Les Bastides . The residents call themselves Aurossais .
geography
The place is located at an average altitude of 100 meters above sea level on the Gironde highlands , on the Beuve river , a left tributary of the Garonne . To the northwest, Bordeaux is 58 kilometers away and Langon is 11 kilometers away. The district of Saint-Germain and numerous scattered hamlets belong to Auros .
The neighboring municipalities of Auros are Brannens in the north, Savignac in the northeast, Berthez in the southeast, Brouqueyran in the southwest, Coimères in the west, Saint-Pierre-de-Mons in the northwest and Saint-Pardon-de-Conques and Bieujac in the north-northwest.

Economy and Infrastructure
There is a distribution center for natural gas in Auros .
The next motorway junction is in Langon, on the A62 autoroute . Since 2010, Auros is between Langon and Pau on the A65 autoroute happens. The departmental road D10 connects Auros with Berthez and Langon.
The nearest train station is in Langon, on the Bordeaux - Sète line of the SNCF . It is used by TER Aquitaine passenger trains.
