Duras is a French commune with 1,284 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Lot-et-Garonne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement Marmande and the canton Les Coteaux de Guyenne (until 2015: Canton Duras ), of which it is the capital.
geography
The municipality is located around 30 kilometers southwest of Bergerac and borders the Gironde department in the southwest . Neighboring municipalities to Duras are:
- Savignac-de-Duras in the north,
- Saint-Sernin in the northeast,
- Pardaillan in the east,
- Auriac-sur-Dropt in the southeast,
- Saint-Pierre-sur-Dropt in the south,
- Taillecavat and Cours-de-Monségur in the southwest,
- Baleyssagues to the west and
- Esclottes to the northwest.
The Dropt river runs along the southern municipal boundary, and the Dourdèze flows into it from the northwest .

Duras is away from national traffic connections. Only the departmental road D 708, which leads from Marmande via Duras to Sainte-Foy-la-Grande , and the D 668, which connects Monségur with Miramont-de-Guyenne in a west-east direction , are of importance.
