Gontaud-de-Nogaret is a French commune with 1,695 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Lot-et-Garonne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Marmande and the canton of Marmande-2 (until 2015: canton of Marmande-Est ).

Gontaud-de-Nogaret is about ten kilometers southeast of Marmande . Gontaud-de-Nogaret is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Birac-sur-Trec in the north and northwest, Puymiclan in the north, Agmé in the northeast, Hautesvignes in the east, Varès in the southeast, Fauillet in the south, Fauguerolles in the southwest and Longueville in the west.
The former route nationale 641 (today's D641) runs through the municipality .
history
Today's municipality was created in 1965 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Gontaud and Saint-Pierre-de-Nogaret .
