Toponymy
The name Caubon comes from the Latin word calvus , which means bald . The name could also come from a Gallo-Roman name.
The name Saint-Sauveur refers to the transfiguration of Jesus Christ .

In 1824 the municipality was formed by the merger of the towns of Caubon and Saint-Sauveur.

- One in Bourg, dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria , built in the 12th century, a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic architecture
- Another in the east of the commune, bearing the place name Saint-Sauveur, built in the 14th century in Romanesque style
