Montignac Toupinerie is a French municipality with 149 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Lot-et-Garonne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Marmande and the canton of Les Coteaux de Guyenne (until 2015: canton of Seyches ).

Montignac-Toupinerie is located about 15 kilometers northeast of Marmande in the historic province of Agenais on the north-western edge of the department.

Le Trec de la Greffière, one of its tributaries, and the Ruisseau de Lacouresse, a tributary of the Canaule , have their source in the municipality.
history
The congregation came from two parishes, the first mentions of which go back to the 11th century. Until 1803 they were united as a branch of Saint-Barthélemy-d'Agenais.
Population development
After records began, the population rose to a peak of around 485 by the middle of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell to 100 inhabitants with short recovery phases until the turn of the millennium, before a phase of moderate growth began, which is still today persists.

Parish Church of Notre-Dame in Montignac
It was built in the 16th century. The pentagonal choir is provided with a ribbed vault , the nave with a paneled ceiling .
Parish Church of Saint Martin in Toupinerie
The church is made of exposed tuff . Its apse is flat. The entrance portal has an archivolt from the 11th and 12th centuries. A massive bell gable with two bells rises above it .
