The phylloxera crisis in viticulture and the loss of jobs due to the mechanization of agriculture have led to a continuous population decline since the second half of the 19th century, but this reversed again in the 1990s.
economy
For centuries, the residents of the community lived on the produce of their fields and gardens, self-sufficient ; cattle breeding and viticulture were also carried out. Craftsmen, small traders and service providers settled in the village. Since the 1960s, some of the vacant houses, but also new buildings, have been used as holiday apartments ( gîtes ) . The municipality has been part of the Côtes du Marmandais wine-growing region since 1990 .
history
The region was already settled in ancient times; the Romans probably brought the wine here too.
In the Middle Ages, the area between England and France was controversial and only finally became French after the end of the Hundred Years War (1337-1453). Later the area belonged to the historical province of Agenais .

The central part of the facade dates back to the Middle Ages and was recognized as a monument historique in 1925 , together with the unusually designed tympanum .
