Du Plat (noble family)

Du Plat is the name of a French noble family . Descendants were later also counted among the nobility in Kurhannover , England and Denmark .

history

First representative in Germany was Pierre Joseph du Plat (1657-1709), royal French lieutenant of the Guards , who in the 1697 cellische Dragoon - Regiment of Hahn (later Regiment Garde du Corps ) of the Duke Georg Wilhelm of Brunswick-Luneburg occurred. He became the progenitor of the Hanoverian family of officers, from which numerous members distinguished themselves and reached high positions. His wife was Helène de Sacrée . His eponymous eldest son Pierre Joseph du Plat  (1691-1753), still in Belgium born, was kurhannoverscher captain in the Corps of Engineers in Ratzeburg . Male descendants of his also entered royal Danish and British services. The royal Hanoverian certificate of nobility belonging received in the February 19, 1820 Hannover his descendant Gustav du Plat , later royal British Major General .
