Dylan Reese (born August 29, 1984 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with HV71 from the Svenska Hockeyligan since July 2016 .

Career

Dylan Reese began his career as a hockey player in the junior division of the North American Hockey League , in which he was active from 2000 to 2003 for Texas Tornado and Pittsburgh Forge. He was then selected in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round as a total of 209th player by the New York Rangers . First, however, he attended Harvard University for four years , for whose ice hockey team he played parallel in the ECAC hockey . With his team he won the championship of ECAC Hockey in 2004 and 2006. Towards the end of the 2006/07 season , the defender for the Rangers farm team , the Hartford Wolf Pack , made his professional ice hockey debut when he prepared four goals in a total of twelve games in the American Hockey League . He spent the following two years in the AHL with the San Antonio Rampage .

In September 2009 Reese signed a contract as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets , but was then only used in their AHL farm team Syracuse Crunch , before it was given in exchange for Greg Moore to the New York Islanders in March 2010 , for the he made his debut in the National Hockey League at the end of the 2009/10 season when he scored two goals and two assists in 19 games. At the same time, he also ran for their AHL farm team Bridgeport Sound Tigers . In the following two years, the American also played for the New York Islanders in the NHL and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL.

In July 2012, Reese was signed as a free agent by the Pittsburgh Penguins . A year later he signed a contract with Amur Khabarovsk from the Continental Hockey League . After his KHL contract expired, he returned to the United States and was signed on July 1, 2014 by the Arizona Coyotes .

In July 2016, Reese left North America again and signed a one-year contract with HV71 from the Svenska Hockeyligan .
