Eden Ladin

Eden Ladin (* December 1987 in New York City ) is an Israeli -American musician ( piano , composition ) of modern jazz .

Ladin grew up in Tel Aviv; In his childhood he came into contact with various musical directions such as jazz , funk and fusion through his father, the drummer Gil Ladin . He started playing drums at the age of five and had classical piano lessons at nine. At the age of 14 he took private jazz piano lessons from Alec Katz and Amit Golan, which led to the piano becoming his main instrument. He also studied harmony with Yafim Yoffe. Soon after, he worked in the Israeli jazz scene, as well as with various pop and rock bands. In 2008 he received a scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and moved to New York, where he studied at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music with George Cables , Reggie Workman , Lee Konitz , Billy Harper , Kirk Nurock , William Parker , Robert Sadin , Charles Tolliver , Sy Johnson , Gerard D'Angelo , Jane Ira Bloom , LeeAnn Ledgerwood , Kevin Hays , Sam Yahel , Joanne Brackeen , Vijay Iyer , Doug Weiss , Ari Hoenig , Armen Donelian and Ben Monder .

Since then he has worked in the New York jazz scene a. a. with Wallace Roney , Myron Walden , Avishai Cohen , Antoine Roney , Darren Barrett , Kimberly Thompson , Mike Clark , Ari Hoenig, Joel Frahm , Eli Degibri , Bill McHenrey , Omer Avital , Mark Guiliana , Dayna Stephens , Donny McCaslin , Gilad Hekselman and Eric Harland . In the field of jazz, Tom Lord leads him in five recording sessions from 2012 to 2017, including a. with Marcos Varela and Phil Dizak . In 2017 Ladin released the album Yequm under his own name .
