The Edition Thanhäuser has its own Handsatz- and proof presses workshop. In the early years of the publishing house, the majority of the books were completely set, printed and bound in it. Today the books, apart from a few offprints, are produced in cooperation with the Plöchl printing company in Freistadt / Austria , where they are printed and bound on an old thread sewing machine. The Gutenberg technique of hand typesetting is still used in the company's own workshop for the book covers; they are printed on a Heidelberg cylinder at Plöchl.
