Eduard Stäuble

Eduard Stäuble (born February 12, 1924 in St. Gallen ; † March 25, 2009 in Zurich ) was a Swiss publicist and author .

Life

After his education at the cantonal teacher training college in Rorschach he studied at the University of Zurich German , folklore and journalism , where he met with a thesis on Albrecht von Haller doctorate was.

He worked as a journalist for Swiss Radio DRS and as editor and publisher of several newspapers, such as the Swiss Republican Papers . Between 1958 and 1966 he worked for the BBC Baden as press officer .

From 1965 to 1986 he was head of the “Culture and Society” department of Swiss television , after which he worked as a freelance journalist based in Gunten on Lake Thun and from 1997 in St. Gallen .

He died at the age of 86 from the effects of heart surgery.
