Oskar von Ekesparre (born July 21, jul. / 2. August  1839 greg. In Kangern on Saaremaa ; † 27. December 1925 in Kuressaare ; Complete name: Oskar Arkadius Otto von Ekesparre-Olbrück ) was a Baltic German officer, railway engineer and Politician.

Life

Oskar von Ekesparre was born as the son of Lieutenant Colonel and Councilor of State Reinhold von Ekesparre, landlord of Kangern on Ösel, and his wife Elisabeth, nee. born of Buxhoeveden .

Career

He completed officer training in the 2nd Cadet Corps in Saint Petersburg from 1850 to 1858 . In the summer of 1858 he became an ensign and later a guard lieutenant in the Semenow Life Guard Infantry Regiment . From the winter semester 1858 to the summer semester 1860 he attended the Nikolai Engineering Academy in Saint Petersburg. From the winter semester 1860 to the winter semester 1863 he studied civil engineering and mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic School in Karlsruhe . He then worked for various railway companies in Russia , from 1864 to 1866 as a section engineer and from 1866 to 1868 as deputy director of the Balta-Elisavetgrad Railway and from 1868 to 1874 as director of the Kharkov-Kremenchuger Railway and from 1872 to 1874 as Chief Engineer of the Znamenka-Nikolayev Railway.

In 1874 he became the owner of the Olbrück estate in Estonia . Olbrück emerged from the Zerell , Pödra and Mento estates . In 1878 he acquired the Brohlbachtal the castle Olbrück .

From 1876 to 1906 Oskar von Ekesparre was Land Marshal von Ösel. In 1909 he was president of the Supreme Railway Commission and from 1920 president of the Öselschen non-profit association.
