Elektrownia ( German Obrakraftwerk , translated power plant ) is a hamlet with four inhabitants in the powiat Międzyrzecki of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to the Schulzenamt and main town Bledzew (Blesen) of the rural municipality of the same name . The 4830 inhabitants of the municipality are spread over 12 school offices (sołectwa) and 25 localities.
Geographical location
Elektrownia is located 1500 meters east of the former town of Bledzew and about 100 meters north of the dam of the Zalew Bledzewski lake , to which the Obra , a tributary of the Warta , is dammed.

The dam and the run-of-river power station were built between 1906 and 1910 by the overland headquarters Birnbaum-Meseritz-Schwerin aW eGmbH , which was founded on the initiative of the districts of Birnbaum ( Międzychód ), Meseritz ( Międzyrzecz ) and Schwerin a./Warthe ( Skwierzyna ). The first two turbines were put into operation at the end of 1910 . The official opening and commissioning of the entire system with three turbines took place on May 15, 1911.
An exhibition has been set up in the generator hall since the 1980s, which includes replaced old fittings, control and measuring devices as well as objects from other modernized hydropower plants. On the first floor there is a control room and a medium-voltage switchgear with original German and Swiss devices. The Bledzew power plant is one of the oldest active hydropower plants in the country. It produces around three thousand MWh of electricity annually , with an output of 1.5 megawatts . Thanks to full automation , the system is monitored by one employee, previously there were six.
tourism
The Zalew Bledzewski is over seven kilometers long and up to 500 meters wide. The water surface is 130 hectares , with an average depth of two meters. The lake is a paradise for anglers. There are many species of fish there, including pikeperch , pike and carp . The reservoir and Obra are navigated by kayaks . The water sports enthusiasts have to carry their equipment around the dam. The power plant and the additional exhibition can be visited by groups. A technical museum is to be set up there in the future.
In Elektrownia there is a holiday center of the energy supplier Enea SA as well as holiday homes. Beyond the power plant there are agrotourism accommodations .
