Ellen Schlootz (actress)

Ellen Schlootz (born November 20, 1973 in Wetzlar ) is a German actress.

Life

In her youth, Ellen Schlootz was regularly on the boards of the Frankfurt Municipal Theaters . After graduating from high school, she moved to Bordeaux, France for a year to study fine arts and sculpture. In 1995 she began her acting studies at the Berlin University of the Arts . Her first engagement took her to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus , where she worked under the direction of Thomas Bischoff , Kazuko Watanabe and Patrick Schlösser , among others . This was followed by a permanent engagement at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, where she worked with directors such as Robert Wilson , Stephan Kimmig and Konstanze Lauterbach . Parallel to guest appearances at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater and projects in the independent scene, she participated in numerous productions for cinema and television. In 2005 she took on one of the leading roles in the four-parter Das Geheime Leben Der Spielerfrauen , played alongside Christian Ulmen in Dr. Psycho and last worked in the award-winning film Oh Boy by Jan-Ole Gerster .

Ellen Schlootz lives in Berlin.
