Carsten Strauch (born December 21, 1971 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German director , screenwriter , film producer and actor .

Life

After graduating from high school at the Albert Schweitzer School in Offenbach, Strauch moved to the Offenbach am Main School of Design . There he studied visual communication with a focus on film / AV and graduated in 2001 as a designer . He was already active as an actor during his studies, initially in two short films in 1995. In the following year he produced the short film Coming Out , which he wrote and which he also directed. In 1996 he produced the animated film Futter , for which he was responsible as an author, illustrator and director. Other short films followed, including Das Taschenorgan from 2000. Loosely based on this, Strauch shot the movie Die Aufschneider in 2007 , with Christoph Maria Herbst , Cosma Shiva Hagen and himself in the leading roles.

Strauch can also be found in other cinema, TV film and series productions - including Die Kuhflüsterin (ARD), Men ticken, Women different (ZDF), An island called Udo (cinema / ARD), Hin und weg (cinema / ZDF ), Tatort - Guardian of the Threshold (ARD). In 2012, Strauch was involved as the main actor, author, director and co-producer in the comedy format Gods Like Us nominated for the Grimme Prize . The six-part comedy series was awarded the German Television Prize 2013 in the Best Comedy category.

Strauch has been part of the ZDF comedy series Sketch History , which has been awarded the German Comedy Prize three times in a row, since 2015 . He has been running his own YouTube channel since 2018 . B. includes insights behind the scenes of Sketch History or self-produced skits.
