Emanuel Hernán Mammana (born February 10, 1996 in Merlo ) is an Argentine football player who is used as a defender in central defense . He plays for the Russian first division club Zenit St. Petersburg . In 2014 Mammana made his debut in the Argentine national team .

Career

After Mammana was pulled up from his youth club Los Santos in 2014 via the U-20s to the first team of the traditional Argentinian club River Plate , the central defender quickly became a fixture in the club. Mammana was able to convince there and in the youth national teams of the country and thus became a transfer target of some European addresses. In July 2016, Olympique Lyon secured the services of the talent from Ligue 1 for a rumored transfer fee of 7.5 million euros.

After a year in Lyon in which Mammana completed 17 league games and scored one goal, he moved on to Zenit St. Petersburg .

National team

In addition to appearances in the Argentine U-17 , Emanuele Mammana has also played a few games in the Argentine U-20 , with his most important game being in the final of the U-20 South American Football Championship in Uruguay in 2015 . Argentina won 2-1 against their hosts Uruguay and Argentina secured their fifth title in tournament history.

Mammana also took part in the U-20 World Cup in 2015 , but dropped out with Argentina in the group stage.
