Magomed Mustafajewitsch Osdojew ( Russian Магомед Мустафаевич Оздоев ; born November 5, 1992 in Grozny ) is a Russian football player who plays as a central midfielder for Zenit St. Petersburg .

Career

society

After graduating from the Dynamo Kiev academy as a teenager , he began his career as a professional footballer at Lokomotiv Moscow . He made his debut in the Premjer League on July 10, 2010 for Lokomotiv Moscow in a game against Anzhi Makhachkala . After 4 years with the Muscovites, Osdoyev was loaned by Lokomotiv Moscow to their league rivals Rubin Kazan for one year on July 14, 2014 . He made his league debut for Kazan on August 1, 2014 in a 4-0 home defeat by Spartak Moscow . At Kazan he was able to establish himself as a permanent part of the team. On February 13, 2017, Rubin Kazan loaned him to Akhmat Grozny until the end of the 2016/17 season. He returned to Kazan after the half series.

On February 15, 2018, he signed a contract with Zenit St. Petersburg. He made his debut on March 3, 2018 in a 0-0 draw against Amkar Perm. He scored his first goal for the club on February 21, 2019 in a Europa League game against Fenerbahçe Istanbul , which ended with a 3-1 win for Zenit. In the 2018/19 season he won the Russian championship with Zenit. Osdoyev had completed 16 games in the league, 10 of them from the start.

National team

On May 11, 2012, Osdoyev was appointed to Russia's preliminary squad for the 2012 European Championship . It was the first time that he was called up to the national team. However, he was not included in the final roster for the tournament. He became the first Ingush who was called to the Russian national team. He made his debut in a friendly against Azerbaijan on September 3, 2014 . He scored his first goal on November 15, 2016 in a friendly against Romania , which ended in a 1-0 win for Russia.

Osdoyev was born in Grozny in 1992, but had to flee Chechnya as a child due to the First Chechen War that the Russian military waged against Chechen separatists . He belongs to the Ingush ethnic group.
