Yaroslav Volodymyrowytsch Rakyzkyj ( Ukrainian Ярослав Володимирович Ракицький ; born August 3, 1989 in Perschotrawensk in the Ukrainian Dnipropetrovsk Oblast ) is a Ukrainian football player .

Athletic career

Rakyzkyj played in Shakhtar Donetsk's junior team from 2003 . He has been a regular in Shakhtar's first team since 2009. In October 2009, the 180 centimeter tall defender was appointed to the Ukrainian national team for the first time and played in a World Cup qualifier against England . National coach Oleh Blochin called him into the squad for the 2012 European Championship . Rakyzkyj was used in the last group game against England .

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the squad of Ukraine . He played the first two games of the tournament against Germany and Northern Ireland, but after two defeats he fell out of the regular team in the last game against Poland.
