Life
Bassermann was a royal Bavarian councilor , owner of a winery in the Palatinate , banker and co-founder of several banks , including the Rheinische Hypothekenbank and the Pfälzische Hypothekenbank.
Under the leadership of Bassermann, the former Jordan wine estate expanded considerably, as did his house holdings; 21 houses in Deidesheim and one each in Ruppertsberg and Forst were included.
