Emily Stang Sando (born March 8, 1989 in Tønsberg , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball player . She plays for the German Bundesliga club SG BBM Bietigheim and in the Norwegian national handball team .

Career

Emily Stang Sando initially played for Larvik HK , with whom she won the 2008 European Cup Winners' Cup in addition to the Norwegian championship . In 2010, the goalkeeper moved to first division promoted Flint Tønsberg to get more play there. From 2013 Sando guarded the gate of the Danish first division team Esbjerg , with whom she won the Danish championship in 2016. After Sando played for Odense Håndbold in the 2017/18 season, she joined league rivals København Håndbold . A season later she moved to the Montenegrin top club ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica . She has been under contract with the German Bundesliga club SG BBM Bietigheim since summer 2020 .

Emily Stang Sando has played 23 games for the Norwegian selection so far. She won the European Championship with the Norwegian team in 2014 . After the first game of the European Championship in 2014, she moved to the Norwegian squad for the injured Kari Aalvik Grimsbø .
