Emirate of Liptako

The Emirate of Liptako was a kingdom of the Fulani in the north of present-day Burkina Faso in West Africa . The area is in the Sahel . The title of the rulers of Liptako was Almamy .

The emirate was founded in 1810 after a war with the Gourmantché Ibrahim bi Sadyu in western Sokoto -rich with capital Dori founded. In 1827 the Fulbe had to withdraw from the northern part, which was conquered as Oudalan by the Logomat Tuareg . Armed conflicts continued with Gulmu to the south .
