Engelbert Gridle (born February 24, 1931 in Urgen, Fließ , Oberinntal ) is an Austrian artist and art educator .

Life

Gridle's parents were small farmers in the Tyrolean Upper Inn Valley. He himself was a teacher at various schools. As the main school director of Prutz , he founded Austria's first all-day school together with parents, pupils, teachers and the citizens of eleven municipalities and, with Ernst Meyer from Heidelberg, the “European Pedagogical Symposium Oberinntal”, a forum for educational discussions and further education. From this the "Oberinntaler Discourses" developed. As a professor of art education at the Pedagogical Academy in Zams , he trained many teachers.

He himself says: “I cannot say what art is, I only know that beauty is a very great gift that touches me deeply and defines the innermost sound of the stars and everything created. Perhaps the idea of ​​everything is also in my scribble. "
